Orchard Training & Education have been engaging young people and delivering construction training for the past 15 years. This construction provisions allows young people to access an alternative educational provision and developing practical skills which are transferable to Post 16 delivery. 

Construction Training Pathway

Level 1 Multi Trade Construction Delivery

This qualification will give you a solid foundation in Multi-trade Construction Activities and prepare you to take further qualifications to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding within Multi-trade Construction Activities.

Within this multi-trade qualification learners will develop basic skills in the following areas:

  • Woodworking.
  • Plastering.
  • Painting and decorating.
  • Bricklaying.
  • Wall and Floor Tiling.

Level 1 Bricklaying Delivery

This qualification supports learners who are focused on progressing their skills within Trowel Occupations gaining fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

This qualification covers the following areas;

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries.
  • Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others.
  • Knowledge of construction technology.
  • Construct block walling.
  • Construct brick walling.
  • Construct cavity walling.
  • Setting out for basic masonry structures.
  • Mix construction materials.

Level 1 Joinery Delivery

This qualification supports learners who are focused on progressing their skills within Wood Occupations gaining fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

This qualification covers the following areas:

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries.
  • Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others.
  • Knowledge of construction technology.
  • Produce woodworking joints.
  • Maintain and use carpentry and joinery hand tools.
  • Prepare and use carpentry and joinery portable power tools.

Level 1 Plastering Delivery

This qualification supports learners who are focused on progressing their skills within the area of plastering, gaining fundamental and transferable practical skills with associated underpinning knowledge.

This qualification covers the following areas;

  • Health, safety and welfare in construction and associated industries.
  • Knowledge of technical information, quantities and communication with others.
  • Knowledge of construction technology.
  • Prepare background surfaces and plaster materials.
  • Apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds.
  • Produce components from moulds.
  • Form sand and cement screeds.
